Student Carpool Parking
UTEP offers carpool permits for students who share a ride to campus. Carpool permits are subject to availability. Email parking@utep.edu to check current availability and request an application form.

2025-2026 Student Carpool Permit requests are open through August 10, 2025 at 11:59 pm. Email parking@utep.edu to receive the request form.
How to get a carpool permit

Request the application form Email parking@utep.edu to receive the Carpool Application form. All members of the carpool must be listed and registered on a single form. |

Submit the completed form Only one form is needed per group. All participants must upload a valid photo ID at the time of submission. |

|
Permit cost is billed to the primary holder The student permit cost is added to the University account of the primary permit holder. |

|
Permit is issued to the primary holder One carpool permit is issued to the primary permit holder. All other members are registered as secondary permit holders under the same permit. |
Carpool permit policies

Group size A minimum of 2 and maximum of 4 people may register under one carpool permit, including the primary permit holder. Vehicles A maximum of 4 vehicles may be registered under a carpool permit, including the primary permit holder's vehicle. Non-transferable Carpool permits are non-transferable. Changes in membership must be reported to parking@utep.edu. No other permits Once enrolled in the carpool program, members may not purchase or hold any other University parking permit. |
Where carpool permits are not valid Carpool permits are not valid in ADA spaces, reserved spaces, red zones, yellow zones, or any visitor spaces. Primary holder responsibility The primary carpool member is responsible for the permit, all vehicles registered to it, and all citations issued to any vehicle in the carpool. Gate access For Employee Inner Campus carpool permits, gate access is granted only to the primary permit holder with a valid Miner Gold Card. Abuse of carpool privileges Any abuse of carpool permits or carpool guidelines will result in cancellation of carpool privileges for all members. |
