Service Awards
UTEP employees who qualify for a service award may redeem it as a credit toward a parking permit. Redemption does not guarantee a permit — you must purchase an eligible employee permit before a service award credit can be applied.
Redemption window: May 1 – August 15, 2026
Service awards are awarded in the spring of the current fiscal year and apply to the upcoming fiscal year, not the current one. Awards are non-transferable and do not roll over.

How to redeem
Starting May 1, 2026, you can complete the entire redemption process online. There is no need to visit the office.
- Purchase an eligible employee parking permit at parking.utep.edu/permits.
- Return to this page on or after May 1, 2026 and click the button below to submit the redemption e-form.
- PTS will apply your service award credit to your permit purchase.

How the credit works
Your service award credit is applied to your permit purchase. The credit value is equal to the current remote permit price for that year.

Credit is higher than permit price Your permit is paid in full. No additional credit or refund is issued for the remaining balance. |
Credit is lower than permit price PTS applies the credit and you are responsible for the remaining balance. |
Example
Your service award credit is $300 (valued at the remote permit rate). You purchase a perimeter permit priced at $400. PTS applies the $300 credit, and you owe the remaining $100.
Remaining balance of $100 or less: Collected as a one-time payroll deduction.
Remaining balance over $100: Collected based on the payment preference you selected when purchasing your permit.
