Andy Warhol's Dream America:

Screen Prints From The Collection of Jordan Schnitzer Foundationy
June 10 - August 4, 2005

Andy Warhol (1928-1987) is noted for his dissection of American commerce and everyday life, and his reverence for and playful exploitation of American popular culture. His art is among the most accessible yet complex to emerge out of the 20th century. Andy Warhol's Dream America features 98 screenprints from the collection of the Jordan Schnitzer Family foundation. The exhibition offers a select overview of Warhol's career, from the Marilyn Monroe series of 1967 to the Cowboys and Indians of 1986, which were created just months before the artist's death.
Organized by the Yellowstone Art Museum and the University of Oregon in consultation with the Foundation, the exhibition contains some of the late artist's most popular suites of work including but not limited to the Maos, Marilyn Monroes, Campbell's Soups, Mick Jaggers, Ten Jews, and Cowboys and Indians. In addition, several individual prints are featured including the John F. Kennedy Campaign Poster from the Flash portfolio, as well as Jackie I and Jackie II, and several revealing self-portraits.
