Is the past really past? Is glitter as valuable as gold? Can pieces tell us more than the whole? The artists inTangential Intimacies respond by producing work that is more concerned with raising questions than providing objective answers, using layers of memory and physical connection to present a divergent vision of what is familiar. The work featured here uses a range of contemporary craft practices to create a generative terrain of intimacy, materializing the untouchable through objects that enable interaction.

Inspired by an all-female solo series presented by locally-based Honeyguide gallery, the exhibition presents the work of the following artists, all with a connection to El Paso or Juarez: Haydee Alonso, Laura Bombach, Nikki Diaz, Cynthia Evans, Nabil Gonzalez, Mia Moreno and Jane Terrazas.
