In Fragile, Vivian returns to a story her mother told her as a child: that she found Vivian in a catalog and ordered a baby boy, but instead a pelican delivered her in a FedEx box to the front porch. The story reappears here alongside the image of a cuckoo: a bird raised by a mother other than its own. Vivian depicts the cuckoo inside a weathered, broken box, reaching upward. The work draws on ideas of childhood, family, motherhood, and the ways stories and experiences are passed down, carried forward, or left behind.

In Made to Last, Ella brings together imagery from quilting and fast fashion within a single wearable object. Silver and nickel tiles are decorated with vitreous enamel patterns that recall quilt squares, while fast fashion tags appear on the opposite side. The necklace places these distinct visual languages alongside one another, bringing references to handmade textile traditions and contemporary fashion culture into conversation. Through its material and construction, the piece considers ideas of craft, labor, consumption, and the ways we assign value to the objects we make and wear.

In The Lovers, Esteban Corona draws from a personal memory, reimagining it through a scene of two nude figures on a bar patio lit by Christmas lights. The work explores intimacy, vulnerability, and queer experience through a moment that moves between memory and invention. Esteban works with acrylic paint and oil pastel to build the scene, balancing the intimacy of the subject with the heightened atmosphere of the setting.
