Research Experiences for Undergraduates:
UTEP-UCSB Exchange Program
Undergraduate students from both institutions are mentored in collaborative, multidisciplinary environments where they will be teamed with graduate students and faculty. Participating students are introduced to the breadth of research in Materials Science and encouraged to pursue graduate work in the same. Their exposure and integration with innovative outreach, diversity and international activities through the PREM will prepare students for future challenges in the broader Materials enterprise.

Joint Undergraduate Research Symposium
The REU Exchange program culminates in an annual Joint Undergraduate Research Symposium that is hosted by UCSB and UTEP in alternating years. Participating interns at both institutions attend and present the results of their summer research. The Joint Undergraduate Research Symposium encourages students to build scientific networks at an early stage of their careers, and provides information about graduate school and Bridge to the Doctorate programs at both institutions.
