We find that, sometimes, faculty and staff are just looking for a little bit of advice or to process a case with another professional. These BITA members have been identified as first points of contact. These professionals have a significant amount of experience in responding to student concerns.

Dr. Charlie Gibbens serves as the Assistant Vice President for Student Support and as chairperson for the UTEP Behavioral Intervention and Threat Assessment.

Cynthia Aguilar

Cynthia Aguilar serves as the Associate Vice President and Dean of Students and as the Co-Chairperson for the UTEP Behavioral Intervention and Risk Assessment Team.

Dr. Jaime Mendez

Dr. Jaime Mendez serves as the Assistant Dean of Students and provides leadership to the non-clinical case management team that supports students of concern at UTEP. Jaime be a good support person for you in the following areas:

  • Students needing emergency aid/food/housing insecurity
