A resilient community healing together at UTEP
“A resilient community, healing together at UTEP”
Presented by UTEP Counseling and Psychological Services
This exhibition will display how art can support individuals and communities in the healing process after the mass shooting that occurred in our town on August 3, 2019.
We are looking for submissions from any and all UTEP students, faculty, and staff to share how they have or are coping and healing through the use of art.
We encourage you to submit any type of art that displays your or your community’s process toward healing.
Submissions will be accepted based on the following criteria: relevance to the theme of healing, appropriateness of message/themes, not containing any hazardous substances, flammable materials, or animal parts or byproducts. The sizing and dimension guidelines for 2D and 3D art will be as follows: 2D photos, posters, paintings, or drawings will be no larger than 15”x20”; 3D items must be able to be displayed on a table with other items.
This is not a competition, but a way to show the resiliency of the UTEP community in times of adversity. The exhibition will take place from December 7 to the 14 at UTEP.
The deadline for submissions will be November 27, 2019.
To be considered for the exhibition you would need to submit:
- The physical artwork at CAPS office
Location: Union Building West 202, 500 W University Ave
- A short description of the art piece and how it relates to healing, with a maximum of 300 words
We look forward to sharing in this healing process with you and our community! #HealingTogether #CopingTogether #ElPasoStrong
