On-Campus Events
Apart from assisting high school students and parents with their post-secondary achievements, we also cooperate with events on and off campus for students to get familiar with the college life, and learn about the different possibilities that are offered at UTEP.
Seniors are encouraged to attend Open House at institutions of their choice. We collaborate with the UTEP, the local four year institution, to encourage districts to provide their students with the opportunity to attend UTEP’s Open House, Orange and Blue Day.
New Student Orientation
Orientation is designed to meet the needs of graduating seniors intending to pursue post-secondary education their institution of choice. It is essential to know the campus and to transition in the most seamless possible way. This is an essential event to attending post-secondary institutions and the Collegiate Mentors collaborate with UTEP by assisting graduating seniors with NSO registration and paving their way to becoming a UTEP Miner. Upon registering for a session, a confirmation will be sent to seniors’ preferred email address with additional details on parking, location, and items to prepare.
Project Move
In the spirit of building a culture of philanthropy and encouraging the Miner Nation to give back, we are inviting you to participate with UTEP’s Project MOVE. During Project MOVE 2012, more than 1000 volunteers performed numerous hours of community service throughout the Borderland. We want to increase that number and we want to make it a worldwide event! Project MOVE (Miner Opportunities for Volunteer Experiences) is an opportunity for all alumni and friends to participate in local service volunteer projects no matter where you are. Collegiate Mentors actively participate in giving back to the community by volunteering in this philanthropic event.
Tech-E Summer Camp
This summer camp for kids is heavily focused on current and developing technologies to allow camp participants an engaging real-world head start in technology innovation before they reach college programs. The camp named Tech-E, which stands for Technology Exploration, will expose campers to a wide range of technologies to better prepare them to make career and future degree choices based on real-world hands-on experiences at a younger age; engaging them in academic programs, technical jobs, and STEAM fields before they begin their true career planning choices.
Orange and Blue Day
Orange & Blue Day is the perfect opportunity to experience college life at UTEP and find out what it means to be a Miner. You’ll have the opportunity to explore our eight Academic Colleges and Schools. Explore our campus, residence halls and recreation center. Learn about admissions, scholarships, and financial aid. Connect with current students, student organizations and much more. Whatever you’re interested in learning about, we’ve got it covered at UTEP’s Orange & Blue day.
