Roma Aeterna

We are pleased to announce the launch of ROMA AETERNA 2023, our summer study abroad program in one of Europe’s most beautiful and historic cities. "font-family: 'Calibri',sans-serif; color: black;">There will be excursions to Naples, Capri, Florence, and Venice as well as to sites in and around Rome, including Tivoli, Hadrian’s Villa and the Castle of Bracciano. Housing will be in shared private apartments in the center of the city.
Participants in the 37-day program will depart for Rome June 22 and return July 29, 2023.
Eligibility & Courses
The program is open to UTEP students of all majors, both undergraduates, and graduates.
- Any undergraduate who has completed 18 credit hours of coursework (at least 12 at UTEP) and attained a cumulative GPA of at least 2.70 is eligible to apply.
- Graduate students must have completed 9 credit hours and have a GPA of at least 3.00.
All students will be required to take two 3000-level courses (6 credits total) that treat both the history and the art and architectural history of Rome: Roma Aeterna I: Ancient and Medieval Rome, with Dr. Max Grossman; and Roma Aeterna II: Renaissance and Baroque Rome, with Dr. Paolo Alei.
Financial Aid & Costs
Financial aid applies and university scholarships that cover part of the program cost will be available to all participants who are studying abroad for the first time.
