The BS-RHSC program is designed to provide a new and streamlined pathway for undergraduate students seeking a career in high shortage rehabilitation professions. There are a number of societal and economic factors that influence the need for and shortage of these professionals. This unique degree will address the educational prerequisite requirements for graduates who are competitive for admission into professional and graduate rehabilitation related programs. Graduates who complete the BS in Rehabilitation Sciences and choose to enter the workforce, will encounter numerous and varied career opportunities. These graduates will be competitive for employment in inpatient, outpatient, and industry-based organizations focused on physical rehabilitation for individuals living with chronic illness and disability. Opportunities may include employment as support staff, medical and health services managers in medical settings, rehabilitation centers and skilled nursing facilities, as well as entry- and mid-level management positions in the healthcare industry. Graduates may find employment in arenas such as community public health agencies, wellness programs, and residential living centers or may find employment helping patients navigate throughout the healthcare continuum. Students currently working in rehabilitation services technician and assistant positions could potentially seek higher pay or better positions upon completion of this degree.
