To develop a new cadre of health scientists capable of resolving complex problems via the integration of knowledge, skills and approaches across disciplines.
To be recognized nationally as a leader in training interdisciplinary researchers tackling health disparities among the 21st century demographic.
Our graduates will be able to:
- Approach health care issues from multiple perspectives and through the integration of knowledge from multiple professions
- Conduct research across health professions to further knowledge and accelerate solutions to address complex and chronic health issues, particularly health disparities and other issues critical in the U.S.-Mexico border region
- Perform the academic responsibilities of teaching, research and service with the highest level of professionalism, sensitivity to cultural diversity and integrity
