Every summer, The University of Texas at El Paso’s Wellness Program and the Office of Human Resources schedules activities to encourage a healthier and more physically active lifestyle among UTEP employees. Wellness Weekdays are fun, informative and interactive sessions that will educate Miners on ways to remain healthy. The sessions are from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm during the summer at locations throughout campus.
Registration for each class starting with Yoga on June 20th, will be required. Individual evite and registration link will be sent for each event, once registration is available.

Mining for Health Walk
Wellness Weekdays kicks off with an activity that is part cardio and part treasure hunt. Mining for Health promotes physical activity on campus among UTEP employees. You can visit six different stations: Old Main, Centennial Plaza, the Chemistry and Computer Science Building, the Health Sciences/Nursing Building, Union East Building, Andesite Rm 102B and Campbell Building.
- Invite a co-worker to join you.
- Pick up a map card at any station.
- Have your card stamped at each site.
- Drop off your card at any station to be included in a raffle.
- The more places you visit, the more chances you have to win. Raffle prizes will be related to fitness such as a membership to the UTEP Student Recreation Center.
- Please enjoy the free yogurt bar in Andesite Room 102B in Union Building East. Make this your last stop so you can freshen up with a yogurt.
Evidence shows that yoga is an excellent stress reducer and great for overall health for the mind, body and soul. This yoga class will introduce participants to a combination of integral yoga and flow yoga. It includes breath control, simple meditation and specific body postures to help you relax and improve your overall health. After getting your fitness on, enjoy a delicious and nutritious yogurt parfait! All levels welcomed.
Tai Chi, frequently described as meditation in motion, is a martial art known for its defensive techniques and health benefits. It helps improve balance control, fitness and flexibility, and helps reduce stress, anxiety and depression. This session will increase your energy and stamina levels for the rest of your workday. Yogurt Bar will be provided at the end of the session.
Would you like to learn how to improve your flexibility, increase blood flow & circulation and reduce injuries or pain? Join us for an educational and interactive Lacrosse Ball class where you will learn how to use this valuable rehab tool. Let us teach you how using a Lacrosse Ball can be an integral part of a healthy and active lifestyle. Lunch will be provided.
Join is for this fun line dancing session where you will enjoy great music and follow an instructor on the choreographed steps to complement the music. Dancing is fun, social and provides aerobic health benefits to your body! Yogurt Bar will be provided at the end of the session.
Zumba is the perfect combo of fun and fitness. It is a mix of low-intensity and high-intensity moves for a calorie-burning dance fitness party. After attending this total workout session, you’ll experience a boost of energy for the rest of the day! Yogurt Bar will be provided at the end of the session.
