Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention Symposium Series
The Center for Law & Human Behavior (CLHB) at The University of Texas at El Paso has restarted the Homeland Security Symposium Series with funding by the Department of Homeland Security, The Center for Prevention Programs and Partnerships. The intention of the symposium series is to leverage existing research to help in the support for the development of local prevention frameworks. The goals of this program include: (1) disseminate relevant targeted violence and terrorism prevention research findings, data, and results; (2) raise societal awareness of the radicalization to violence process; and (3) develop capacity to identify the risk factors for and the protective factors against radicalizing to violence. The Center for Law & Human Behavior plans to continue its symposium series with future in-depth conferences on subjects that reflect the needs and requests of its Department of Homeland Security stakeholders. The aim is to increase the amount of opportunities for workforce development for members of the homeland security enterprise
