WELCOME TO SMARTMIND


The Summer Mentoring and Research Training: Methods In Neuroscience of Drug-abuse (SMART-MIND) program provides an intensive summer research training experience for undergraduate students and high school teachers hosted on The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) campus. Participants in the program conduct research under the mentoring of UTEP neuroscience faculty, participate in professional development workshops, and present their research findings at the COURI summer symposium. All participants receive a stipend, and out of town participants are provided travel to/from UTEP and housing.

*With financial support from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the Campus Office of Undergraduate Research Initiatives (COURI), and grants from members of the Neuroscience Faculty Team at UTEP, the Summer Mentoring and Research Training: Methods in the Neuroscience of Drug-abuse (SMART MIND) is held each summer.

UTEP Welcomes New Faculty Members for 2024-25 Academic Year

The University of Texas at El Paso welcomed a new cohort of tenured, tenure-track, and instructional faculty members to begin the 2024-25 academic year. The new faculty members come to UTEP with a breadth of expertise that ranges from science, health sciences, pharmacy, and the performing arts to humanities, education, engineering, social sciences, and business.
