The Importance of Accreditation
The University of Texas at El Paso’s Master of Rehabilitation Counseling (MRC) program is accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) until October 2023 (http://www.cacrep.org/program/rehabilitation-counseling-75/). CACREP is a specialized accreditor for counseling programs. CACREP standards ensure that CACREP-accredited programs have qualified and professionally engaged faculty, resources to support learning, and curricula determined to be relevant to the work of counselors by the counseling profession (see http://www.cacrep.org/). Programs that are accredited by CACREP have passed a rigorous evaluation process, guaranteeing that the programs meet national standards for what is taught in each class.
