University Honors Program
The University Honors Program (UHP) encourages eligible, undergraduate students with a commitment to academic excellence and aspiration to engage on campus, local, and global community scholarly experiences, and to make optimum use of the UTEP resources. Participation in honors course work offers students a richer more intense and more challenging academic experience as well as closer, more personalized contact with faculty and peers. UHP strives to expand the academic advancement, career exploration, leadership, mentorship, research, scholarship, service, and personal enrichment experiences offered to Honors Program members.
Notice of Program Change
We are making exciting changes to the University Honors Program. In an effort to enhance program operations and tailor offerings to each student according to college or school, UHP will be going from a university-wide model to a college-based model, beginning Fall 2019. The Program will better customize program requirements for each college or school, and strengthen the value of an honors degree. This program change does not affect students registering for honors courses for the Spring 2019 semester. Please continue to visit our website for more updates regarding academic requirements for the Fall 2019 semester.
Notice to Current Honors Students
The Fall 2019 program change will not affect returning honors students who are registering for the Spring 2019 semester.
