1) How do I initiate the request for an H-1B and/or (LPR) Lawful Permanent Residence process?
The employee must seek approvals from his/her supervisor to initiate the visa sponsorship. Hiring Departments will email approvals to initiate the case to Human Resources Immigration team.

Administrative Divisions must obtain approvals from Department Heads
Once the Immigration Team has received the approvals further instruction and forms will be provided to initiate the case. Please forward approvals to HRImmigration@utep.edu.

When traveling outside the US we recommend to have the following documents:

Certified Documents of H1-B petition filed with USCIS
Valid unexpired passport
Valid unexpired visa
