Community-Engaged Courses at InSPIRE

InSPIRE supports faculty in creating meaningful learning experiences that connect academic learning with community engagement, leadership development, and applied practice. Working through the Office of the Provost, we help strengthen community-engaged teaching across UTEP and support Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) designated courses that meet university standards for community-engaged learning and receive official transcript designation.

InSPIRE also supports faculty who incorporate community engagement and service-learning experiences into their courses without pursuing a formal CEL designation. Whether through community-based projects, partnerships, volunteer experiences, or other applied learning opportunities, we provide guidance, resources, and faculty support to help students connect classroom learning to real-world community impact.
