Borderlands Digital Humanities Center
The center includes workshop seating for up to 20 attendees that can be arranged as small tables, rows, or a square, rectangle, or u-shaped configuration. Banquet seating and additional chairs can accommodate additional guests who do not require table space. The space is configured for video conferencing and can include access to a 6 workstation mini-lab.

The Borderlands Digital Humanities Center is a 20-seat workshop, learning, or interactive event space equipped with full audio and video capabilities. The space is available at no cost to faculty, campus departments, and registered student organizations, for events that are free and align with our core programming goals, which include:
- Supporting faculty and student development in digital research methodologies and practices in their scholarship, teaching, or learning.
- Encouraging interdisciplinary conversations on the impacts of digital technologies and processes on humanistic inquiry and human expression, culture, or society.
- Deepening public knowledge about the impact of the digital on human life and the social, economic, political, and cultural implications of our expanding relationship with digitality.
- Promoting innovative, cross-disciplinary dialogue on the digital humanities and related fields (digital rhetoric, digital pedagogy, science and technology studies, computational linguistics, digital cultural heritage, digital history, data art, critical code studies, etc.).

The center's workshop space is equipped with the following technology:

86” multitouch Createboard with built in WiFi for screen sharing and wired HDMI and USB-C wired connections
- Logitech Video Conferencing Camera with wireless keyboard and mouse
RESERVATION AND USAGE POLICIES
Reservation Deadlines and Fees
- Reservation requests must be submitted at least one week prior to the event.
- Reservations are subject to center and staff availability.
- Reservations are for the workshop space alone. If you would like exclusive access to the mini-lab's equipment in addition to the workshop space, please indicate that in your request.
- Attendees must vacate the space at the end of the reserved time and the space must be returned to its original condition.
- For all events, a valid UTEP cost center is required to cover damages to the space or equipment..
- You are welcome to test the technology in advance before your event.
Food and Beverage
- Food and drinks may be consumed only in the workshop space and not in the mini-lab area. Always use caution to ensure that materials and equipment are not damaged by spillage from food or drink.
Parking and Additional Equipment
- Parking reservations must be arranged directly with the Office of Parking & Transportation (x5724).
- Additional furniture or equipment must be secured through Facilities Services (x7187) at the cost of the reserving party.
- Space Configuration: Alternative seating configurations are available; please specify your preferences in the reservation request. At the end of the event, the space must be returned to its original condition.
Damage and Liability
- Damage to the facility is the responsibility of the reserving party. Repair costs will be billed accordingly.
- Furniture belonging to the Center cannot be removed from the space. Lost furniture of equipment will be billed accordingly.
