Jeff Sirkin (Associate Professor)
Twentieth-Century Literature & Culture
Jeff Sirkin is the author of the poetry collection Travelers Aid Society (Veliz Books, 2016). He earned his MA from Miami University and his PhD in Literature from University at Buffalo. In addition to poetry, he writes on the intersections of music with postmodern literature and the historic avant-garde, and he has presented work on Kurt Cobain, Bob Dylan, punk rock, and on the relations between twentieth century poetry and popular music. His work has appeared in The Literary Review; Mandorla; Puerto del Sol; Forklift, Ohio; and elsewhere. He teaches classes on Twentieth-Century American Literature and culture, with a focus on postwar writing and poststructuralist theory. Recent classes have been on Writing About Popular Music, Prisoner of War films, Speculative Fiction, and The Politics of Narration. Co-editor of the online poetry journal A Dozen Nothing <www.adozennothing.com>, he is Associate Professor in the Department of Creative Writing at UTEP, where he also co-curates the long-running Dishonest Mailman Reading Series.

Jeff Sirkin es autor del libro de poesía Travelers Aid Society (Veliz Books, 2016). Obtuvo su maestría en la Universidad de Miami y su doctorado de literatura en la Universidad de Buffalo.
