Faculty Profile
Weidong Zhang earned his doctoral degree in political science from the University of Iowa. His work focuses on the connections between domestic politics and international relations, including the diversionary theory, maritime security, great power competition, and Chinese foreign policy. He is also interested in general global security topics and Indo-Pacific security. He employs various methods in his work, including network analysis and time series analysis. His teaching interests are national security, great power competition, and research methods.
