About Internships
An internship can give students a solid “on-the-ground” experience in what it’s like to work for a museum. It also allows students to produce work that can be applied to their resumes. The Museum Studies program will work with students to select the best institution and focus to fit with the individual’s interest(s) within the museum world. See the links under this heading for examples of our partnering institutions and some testimonials from current and former students about their internship experiences.
This section also includes links to the most important job sites for the museum field. These sites cover paid (and unpaid) internship opportunities as well as jobs.
