What can I do with it?
The Museum Studies Minor can help prepare you for a career in the museum field. Potential careers within museums are varied (see section on Museum Professions) and can tie to a number of majors, including History, Art History, Studio Art, Graphic Design, Business, Anthropology/Sociology, Archaeology, English, Psychology, and Theater. The minor can give you options for your professional life.
Don’t necessarily want a career in museums? The minor can also strengthen your ability to think creatively and critically. If you want to teach, it can help you understand how to use museums to enhance classroom learning and how to use objects in the classroom. It can also supplement an understanding of architecture and interior design, or social systems and human behavior.
