UTEP Graduate Students Present at Musicology Conference
Graduate students Lauren Martinez (piano performance) and Nicholas Saucedo (music education) were accepted to present original research at the Rocky Mountain Music Scholars/American Musicological Society Rocky Mountain Chapter conference on April 1 at Utah State University in Logan. Lauren’s research, “Ernesto Lecuona: The Cuban Gershwin” comes out of her work in the Music Bibliography and Research course, and Nicholas’, “Bach’s Souvenirs: A Performance Review of C.P.E. Bach’s Music,” stems from his time in the Graduate Music History Seminar, “Treatise Club.” Both students worked closely with Dr. Lindsey Macchiarella for these projects and have expressed interest in continuing on to study musicology at the doctoral level.
