Participation Dates: March 26, April 2-4, 2020
High School percussionists (9th grade through 12th) are invited to apply for participation in the 2020 UTEP Honor Percussion Ensemble. Guest conductors, Eric Willie, and Leo Valenzuela will lead participants in performing inspiring percussion ensemble selections. This year’s concert will include a homage to RUSH drummer, Neil Peart. Selected students will receive music to be prepared well in advance

Audition Video URL Description
- Submit a link (url address) to an unlisted Youtube video url on the online application linked above.
- Choose a minimum of two solo selections - one keyboard, and one membrane (snare drum, multi-tenors, timpani, drum-set) — with a maximum total of six minutes playing time. These selections may be etudes or any selections of your choosing - they may be Region etudes or equivalent, or other intermediate to advanced selections. Demonstrate your strenghts!
- Note to seniors performing an entrance/scholarship audition to UTEP. Students may use their February on-campus scholarship/entrance audition at UTEP as their audition in place of submitting a video. If so, please indicate in the field on the google form in place of a URL.
Additional Information
There is NO application fee. However, there is a participation fee for those students selected to participate. A $45 fee is required for attendance which will include a UTEP Percussion T-shirt, Saturday lunch, and also contribute toward the guest conductor fee
Selected students will be notified by March 4 and be sent music for preparation.
