Music Fundamentals Development Online Course
The Music Fundamentals Development course is a free resource for UTEP students to boost their music-fundamentals skills. It includes the following topics:

Pitch reading on the musical staff

Rhythm & Meter
-
Scales (major and minor)
-
Key Signatures
-
Intervals
-
Chords (triads and seventh chords)
Overview
Readiness Checks and Sub Quizzes
Each topic starts with a “Readiness Check” to assess whether or not you need more practice with that topic. If you pass it, you can move on to another topic. If you don’t pass it, then a series of new sub quizzes will open up that break down the topic into smaller pieces. Once you pass all of those sub quizzes, the topic is marked as complete and you’ll receive a badge for that topic.
To see the badges you’ve earned, click on “More” and then “Badges” in the menu area. Your teacher may assign some or all of the modules for completion. To prove you completed specific topics, show your teacher your badges area.

This course is only free to use for those with UTEP email address. To register go to https://jarellamusic.net/moodle and click “Create new account” and fill out the requested information. Make sure to use your UTEP email address. A confirmation email will be sent to your email address. Open that email and click the link inside. Check span and quarantine folders if it’s not in your inbox. Now that you’re logged in, click the “Home” button at the top of the screen and click on the course named “Music Fundamentals Development” and that will enroll you in the course.
