Philosophy Graduate Students Recognized for Research, Publications, and Doctoral Program Acceptances

Graduate students from the department of Philosophy have recently earned recognition through fellowships, doctoral program acceptances, and academic publications.

Rubaiyat Rahman was named a 2026 Research Fellow at West Point’s Modern War Institute.

Ángel Rafael Sosa Muñiz was accepted into Baylor University’s PhD program in Philosophy beginning Fall 2026.

Aurora Wayne (Philosophy MA 2026) will begin her Ph.D. at UT Austin this fall. She accepted an offer from UT Austin's Ph.D. program in English.

Ana Gabriela Sánchez recently had an article accepted for publication in APA Studies on Hispanic/Latino Issues in Philosophy.

Sánchez and fellow graduate student Arely Macias-Licon also had a translation accepted for publication in an upcoming Festschrift volume published by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City.

These accomplishments reflect the continued academic excellence and scholarly impact of UTEP Philosophy graduate students.
