Installing software on your PC via Software Center
These steps will show you how to install software on your Windows PC using UTEP's Software Center:
If "Software Center" is not present on your computer, please contact the Liberal Arts TIM Andy Castellanos acastellanos@utep.edu to have this corrected.
1. Click on the "Start" button and start typing "Software Center." The Desktop app will appear. Click on it to launch the software:
2. When the app launches, you will be presented with a listing of all the software available to your UTEP account. Click on the software you wish to install to continue:
2a. If you don't see the software you need, please contact the UTEP Helpdesk helpdesk@utep.edu to request it.
3. At the "Application details" screen, you will be presented with details about the software. Click on the orange "Install" button to continue:
4. As the software installs, the window will update with an "Installing..." notification, as well as with updated "Status" notifications:
5. Once the software has finished installing, the "Status" will update to "Installed," and a new "Date Modified" field will update with the installation date. If you wish to uninstall the software at this time, you may do so if desired:
