The program consists of a presentation that focuses on teaching the community the basic information needed to eat healthier while taking into account good taste, affordable, and easy to find foods.

The following topics will be covered in 1.5 hours:

  • Portion size control
  • Importance of eating a balanced variety of foods.
  • Different food groups, their benefits, and how to identify them.
  • Sugar consumption effects, and how to manage your daily intake by knowing how to convert from sugar grams to spoons.
  • Importance of water consumption.
  • Usage of herbs and spices local from El Paso, to achieve a better taste, without adding extra calories or salt to your food.
  • Healthy and delicious recipes that you can eat instead of junk food.
