For nearly 50 years, the UTEP College of Nursing has prepared highly qualified health care professionals who are readily employed in hospitals, clinics and other health care facilities across Texas, New Mexico and the rest of the country. More than 60% of El Paso nurses are UTEP graduates.
Graduates from our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program consistently surpass local and national averages for first-time pass rates on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for registered nurses, validating our best efforts to ensure new nurses are properly prepared to enter the nursing profession.
Our graduate programs prepare master's and doctorate-prepared nurses with the knowledge and credentials for advanced clinical practice and leadership roles across Texas and the nation.

Third-Party Comments for College of Nursing (CON)
Doctor of Nursing Practice Program
The University of Texas at El Paso, CON Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program received an initial five-year accreditation by the Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) in April 2019. The DNP program is scheduled for a five-year accreditation review March 13-15, 2024.
Written third party comments regarding the DNP program must be received by CCNE no later than February 19, 2024.
CCNE accepts only signed, third-party written comments in English.
