An application accepted by the published deadline will generally be assigned to the corresponding meeting, however, there may be circumstances when this is not possible, in which case it will be assigned to the next available committee meeting. Application receipt by submission deadline does not guarantee review at the corresponding meeting.Human Subjects Research is overseen by the Institutional Review Board (IRB). The IRB is responsible for protecting human subjects who participate in research. The IRB is guided by these basic ethical principles: recognition of personal dignity and autonomy, special protection for those with diminished autonomy, an obligation to protect persons from harm by maximizing benefits and minimizing risks, and distribution of benefits and burdens fairly.
