Research Compliance Training

What We Do

Research compliance training is designed to ensure that individuals involved in research understand and adhere to federal, state, and institutional regulations, ethical standards, and safety protocols. Research Compliance and Regulatory Assurances use primarily the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI Program) to provide research faculty, students, and staff with required training on responsible conduct of research, animal research ethics, human subjects research compliance, biological and laboratory safety practices, and other topics.

What happens if I do not complete the required training?

Noncompliance with Federal, State, UT System, and UTEP policies and regulations related to training may suspend the PI’s sponsored project privileges or delay research protocol approval.  Sponsored project privileges implications can include but are not limited to freezing proposal submission, delayed project setup at notice of award, and freezing expense activity for on-going projects.
