Geophysical Laboratory
		ABOUT The UTEP Geophysical Laboratory supports a range of scientific research projects imaging Earth’s subsurface environment including hydrogeology, soil science, tectonics/faulting, structural geology, geologic mapping, and more. We maintain and operate a wide range of field geophysical instruments for combined instructional and research use with classes such as Intro to Geophysics, Non-Seismic Geophysics, and Field Geophysics as well as grant-funded research projects. FEATURES Measures Earth’s gravity and magnetic fields Map bubsurface conductivity (e.g., to track salinity) in soils and the near-surface environment. Survey in high resolution with GPS equipment Measure geophysical properties in boreholes with logging tools
