Records Request
There are two types of requests students or alumni can make. Those are a background check or dean’s certification and an open records request.
Background checks or dean certifications are typically requested by a potential employer, a licensure board or school. If the background check you need requires any information about your academic standing at the university, please send the document to the Registration and Records Office (https://www.utep.edu/student-affairs/registrar/). Once Registration and Records completes their portion the document will be sent to the OSCCR.
If academic information is not needed for your background check, please bring or send the document to the OSCCR. You can email it to studentconduct@utep.edu. The OSCCR will fill out the document and send it back to the requestor, not the student/alumni.
Open records requests follow the Texas Public Information Act. All requests must be made through the Vice President for Business Affairs Office. If you would like to make a request regarding a case with the OSCCR, please follow the link below to start the Open records request process. https://www.utep.edu/vpba/open-records/
