The UTEP Undergraduate Fellows Program is designed to help outstanding first-year students and sophomores planning to apply for nationally competitive fellowships  during their undergraduate career. The program consists of a series of professional development seminars on how to become a strong candidate for these opportunities. As a capstone project, each Fellow will craft a personal statement for a nationally competitive fellowship of interest to them.

The Undergraduate Fellows Program is managed by the UTEP Office of Student Fellowships and Awards (OSFA). Each semester, the OSFA will select a group of students to participate. Those who successfully complete the program will receive a stipend, which will be applied toward their educational expenses.

Undergraduate Fellows will:

• Identify nationally competitive awards that align with their educational and professional goals.
• Connect with campus resources crucial to success in these competitions and beyond.
• Explore high-impact experiences such as undergraduate research, internships, study abroad, and service learning.
• Learn to discuss their educational, professional, and personal development in a compelling way.
• Earn a stipend for successful completion of the program.
