Tenant Users Liability Insurance Policy (TULIP)
Non-University organizations and groups frequently request the use of UTEP facilities or property for special events. While many organizations that request the use of facilities carry their own liability insurance and are able to meet UTEP insurance requirements, others are not. Tenant's and/or lessees may obtain insurance coverage through the Tenants Users Liability Insurance Policy (TULIP) program. The Policy may be purchased for the term of the lease for short term or long term leases. The coverage is general liability for certain claims arising from tenants and/or lessees on the facilities owned and/or operated by UTEP.
Procedure:
Complete the TULIP Request Form. Determine the event type from the drop down menu within the form, number of attendees/participants, number of days of the event, and whether alcohol is to be sold. The premium can be automatically calculated based on these options.
Requests for coverage in Class I must be submitted at least 10 days in advance. All requests for coverage in Class II must be submitted for a quote. Please provide 30 days advance notice for Class II request to allow sufficient time for underwriting review.
Submit the form to the Office of the Vice President for Business Affairs (VPBA).
