OT Instructor Receives TOTA Academic Educator of the Year Award
Ms. Rocio Alvarenga, instructor and academic fieldwork coordinator for the Occupational Therapy Program, was recognized by the Texas Occupational Therapy Association (TOTA) at their recent annual conference, receiving the Academic Educator of the Year award. The award is given to recognize a faculty member who has made outstanding contributions to academic education through innovation; who contributes to the profession via presentations, publications and research; and who provides community service through membership on state or local OT boards. Ms. Alvarenga was nominated for the award by Dr. Christine Chen, director of the Occupational Therapy Program.
