This team of undergraduate engineering & computer science majors drives the College of Engineering's K-12 Outreach programs. Their mission is to develop and nourish relationships with local area schools and teachers while providing a menu of programs that will grow the pool of future Miners.

MORE OUTREACH

IMSE Day

The Industrial, Manufacturing and Systems Engineering Department invites prospective students to dive deep into poster presentations in the areas of digital twin technology, computer modeling and simulation, complex systems analysis and blockchain/cyber security in the engineering process. MMBME Open House

Learn about the majors in the Metallurgical, Materials and Biomedical Engineering Department while meeting professors and current students. Labs will be open to engage guests in metal casting and hands-on demonstrations.


Nexus Shadowing Program

The Nexus shadowing program offers high school students a research experience. Sponsoring labs connect participants to faculty and student researchers which may grow to include a laboratory project, leadership training, and a final project/presentation.

Online applications are only accepted during the months of August, January and May for shadowing to occur in the fall, spring and summer semesters respectively.


Tour the College of Engineering

Tours target prospective high school juniors and seniors along with their parents. To schedule a tour, please email your contact information, your preferred days/times and your interest to pickengineering@utep.edu.


TRIP

The program targets El Paso Community College and early college high school students to visit the UTEP campus in the summer to explore engineering through the lens of transportation to gain the skills, knowledge, and network to successfully pursue a degree in civil engineering or related fields.
