ExciTES

ExciTES encourages rising 3rd graders through 11th graders from the El Paso/Ciudad Juarez region to use their knowledge, imagination, and creativity to 1) become aware of the diverse fields and careers of engineering, and 2) be encouraged to attend college, specifically, UTEP's College of Engineering.

During any sessions in the ExciTES Summer Institute, you will meet other students your age as you will be engaged in inquiry-based and team-oriented projects activities that were developed with the assistance of UTEP engineering faculty and facilitated by undergraduate students. You exploration of the various engineering fields and careers will connect to the Bachelor of Science degrees offered through the UTEP College of Engineering and take you through engineering research laboratories and UTEP facilities.

Application Process

Students, along with their parents, can apply online to the ExciTES Summer Institute starting April 15. An exact timeline of the application process is shown on our online application page. Upon acceptance to ExciTES, fees will be collected on the first day of the session. Do not send payment prior to being accepted.

Rising 3^rd thru 5^th graders – Elementary Sessions – $110/student/week

Robotics Session I: June 6-10, 1pm-4pm
Robotics Session II: June 20-24, 1pm-4pm
Robotics Session III: July 18-22, 1pm-4pm

Rising 6^th thru 9^th graders – ExciTES Sessions – $175/student/week

ExciTES Session I: June 13-17, 9am-4pm
ExciTES Session II: June 20-24, 9am-4pm
ExciTES Session III - Electrified Roadways: July 11-15, 9am-4pm

Rising 9^th thru 11^th graders – Challenge Sessions – prices vary

AI4ALL Session I: July 11-July 22 (2 weeks, Mondays-Fridays), 9am-4pm; FREE to students who get accepted; for more information visit the UTEP AI4ALL website
