The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UTEP extends President Emerita Diana Natalicio's vision in providing learning opportunities for senior adults, 50 years of age and older. Our UTEP campus home in Miners Hall is unavailable during the current stay home/work safe conditions. OLLI’s courses are now offered online and come to you in the comfort and safety of your home.On this website, senior adults will find numerous opportunities to become involved, engage their minds, elevate their spirits and join others with like interests in activities toward healthy aging.
OLLI at UTEP is one of 124 Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes on university and college campuses in 50 states (plus the District of Columbia) supported by the Bernard Osher Foundation. Each Osher Institute reflects the culture of its own university and learning community. Our program of classes is developed by a group of volunteer members, the Curriculum Committee, who determine what the courses will be based on past enrollments and suggestions from the membership at large. Members of the Curriculum Committee and the OLLI volunteer base have specific duties and responsibilities throughout the academic term of their service and are the operating force behind OLLI's success at UTEP.
OLLI members also stay social in online activities offered through clubs, special interest groups, and live lectures. When possible, UTEP offers many educational, and musical events that are available to OLLI members at a discount: theater, concerts, museum exhibits, and special lectures to name a few.
No prior academic credentials are required. No exams will be administered, no papers will be assigned, grades given, nor diplomas and certificates issued. If you are over fifty and have an intellectual curiosity to satisfy, click here to see the current catalog and join others just like you.
The OLLI staff is currently working remotely for the safety of our staff and members. Our offices at Miners Hall are currently unavailable. All classes are currently online. Remote office hours are 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please feel free to contact us via email or phone. Leave a message. An OLLI volunteer or staff member will contact you.
