Archive: 2020 Honors Convocation
This time of year near the end of the spring semester is a time of celebration.
We honor both our undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty members whose exemplary accomplishments serve as the hallmark of our mission at this University. And even though we can't be
together to celebrate you, your successes are no less important to us.
Like past honors convocations, this day is about you and nothing not even this coronavirus pandemic can take away from you all that you earned.
Your education, your high achievements will be with you forever.
We're extremely proud of all of you undergraduate and graduate students who exemplify academic excellence.
The honors you received today have been made possible through hard work, determination and confidence.
These are qualities that will carry you well into the future as successful and responsible citizens of your community and your world.
I want to thank our faculty, staff, administration, alumni and friends for all they have done and continue to do to support our students on their educational journeys.
Their dedication to the mission of this University has been unwavering, even in the most challenging of times.
And finally, I want to say a quick word to the families of our outstanding students.
Your love and support service the true foundation for their success.
Thank you for standing by them and for encouraging them to pursue their dreams at UTEP.
