LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT

Heather-Wilson.jpg

Honors Convocation at The University of Texas at El Paso is an annual tradition in the life of the University that celebrates both the outstanding academic achievements of our students and the distinguished teaching and scholarship of our faculty.

In normal years, Honors Convocation would be marked by an in-person ceremony, complete with a processional and formal award presentation. Regrettably, this year, like the previous one, continues to be anything but normal. While we have made groundbreaking advancements to return to the “new normal,” we are still unable to celebrate you in person. However, rest assured we are nonetheless very proud of all you have achieved.

We are proud to recognize this year’s student honorees who, despite obstacles and limitations brought forth by the pandemic, exemplify academic excellence and passion for learning. They have challenged themselves and discovered new pathways to personal success, and exceptional faculty who teach, mentor and lead by example have guided them.

Congratulations to each of this year’s most accomplished students and faculty at UTEP. Know that our celebration of your success is truly genuine.

Sincerely,
Heather Wilson
President
