DoART Degree Plans
The Department offers two undergraduate degrees in the visual arts: the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA). Students may declare the Art major or minor with a concentration in any of the following areas: Ceramics, Drawing, Graphic Design, Metals, Painting, Printmaking and Sculpture. Students may also choose to declare the major or minor in Art History. The minor is available to both Art majors and non-Art majors (BFA students may be considered with the approval of the Department Chair). In addition, the Department offers a BA in Art Education with All-Levels Teacher Certification, which prepares students for a career in primary or secondary education. Students may earn an Exhibition Practices Certificate by completing three classes with a minimum grade of B: Art 3306, Art 3308 and Art 3309. This certificate is a tool for helping graduates attain entry-level employment in an art museum or gallery. |
