Minor in Intelligence and Security Studies
The Minor in INSS is useful for students interested in understanding the complex world of security, especially those seeking careers in the U.S. Intelligence Community and private companies employing a variety of security services. Students are required to complete six hours of required courses, six hours of prescribed electives in the Intelligence and National Security Studies curriculum, and six hours from a list of interdisciplinary electives.
Fast-Track Dual Credit Program
Eligible undergraduate students may pursue selected graduate courses that will provide them with both undergraduate and graduate credit (up to 12 hours) that can be applied to their INSS minor and the Master of Science in Intelligence and National Security Studies.
Application Requirements
- Successfully completed at least 90 hours of undergraduate coursework toward their degree, with a minimum of 24 credit hours at UTEP.
- INSS Minor
- Have and maintain a 3.3 undergraduate GPA
If you would like to apply for the INSS Fast Track Program, follow these steps:
- Click here to complete the Fast Track Application Form. Complete this form and obtain all required signatures.
- Then you will need to apply for admission to the INSS Fast Track program via the Graduate School website.
- Submit a scanned copy of this completed form with the graduate school application.
