Marah A. Abdel Jaber
Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Magna Cum Laude
“I would like to thank my dearest family for all of their unconditional support throughout my degree. Without the support of my grandmother and parents, the guidance of my older sisters, and the love of my younger siblings I would not be able to celebrate such an accomplishment. لان حبي لك فوق مستوي الكلام قررت ان اسكت ..... والسلام....... I would also like to give my sincerest thank you to the Political Science department, and a special thank you to Dr. Taeko Hiroi, for encouraging me to pursue greater things and always supporting my aspirations. Thank you to all of the department TA’s who shared their constant love and support throughout this journey, I look forward to seeing everyone’s incredible accomplishments! Finally, congratulations to my sister, Wesam Abdeljaber, who I have the privilege of sharing this great accomplishment with, love you forever Dr. Abdeljaber!”

Kenia G. Guerrero
Masters in Public Administration, Graduate Archer Fellow, Summer 2020
"As my journey at UTEP comes to an end, I want to express my deep gratitude towards my professors, advisors, peers and friends. I’ve come to cherish every single moment I spent on campus during the past 7 years. I came in as a shy 18-year-old too worried about my thick Mexican accent, and I’m now leaving as a 26-year-old a lot more confident, and ready to take on the world. There’s so much people I need to say thank you to, but the main ones would be my parents. Todo lo que hago y todo lo que soy es por ustedes papás. No me alcanzan las palabras para decirles lo agradecida que estoy por su apoyo y amor incondicional."

“Dr. Andonoska, Dr. Boyer and Dr. Bretting, your courses were rigorous yet rewarding. Thank you all for challenging me academically. To my husband and two children, thank you for your love, support, and patience during my UTEP journey. Mother, my graduate degree is dedicated to you. Thank you for your prayers, support, and encouragement. I am most grateful to God for this accomplishment that once felt unattainable. Congratulations to my peers…we MASTERED it!”

"To my wife and kiddos, thank you for supporting, encouraging, and motivating me through our journey. Team McFarland, I love you for making it possible to strike a balance between the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy and our graduate degree. To the Department of Political Science, thank you for setting the conditions for me and many others to accomplish an additional step towards our calling. As we embark on our next duty assignment, my story about the insightful and professionals' staff will be forever ingrained in me and shared! #Class71USASMA&Miner"

"Another life goal complete. I appreciate the love and support from my amazing husband and my two wonderful children throughout this journey of obtaining my master's degree. A big thank you to UTEP faculty and staff who have been a great help and inspiration these past two years. It’s been a wonderful experience. Up next, Doctoral Degree. Go Miners!"

Sandra Nehring
Masters of Arts in Political Science
"This celebration would not be possible without the amazing faculty and staff of the Department of Political Science who became my family away from home. Receiving M.A. in Political Science from UTEP in fact changed my life forever as I will no longer be able to not ask “what if?, under what conditions?” I would like to thank my loving family in Poland and the General Casimir Pulaski Society of El Paso for the unconditional support."
