International Travel with UTEP Technology
If you are a Faculty or Staff member with the College of Liberal Arts and you wish to travel abroad with UTEP technology (laptop, tablet, etc.), you must contact the Technology Implementation Manager (TIM) with the following advance notice if your travel takes you to (and includes stops in):

Countries participating in the Wassenaar Arrangement (e.g. Mexico, Canada, the UK): 15 days minimum

Countries NOT participating in the Wassenaar Arrangement (e.g. Cuba, Bangladesh, China): 30 days minimum (device will need to be unencrypted/decrypted ). Check for encryption status of your device here.

Countries with State Department Level 3 Advisory (e.g. Nicaragua, Honduras, Sudan): 95 days minimum (pending University authorization )

Countries with State Department Level 4 Advisory (e.g. Syria, North Korea, Afghanistan): 95 days minimum (pending University authorization )
If less advance notice is provided than stipulated here, the TIM will still assist you as best as possible but cannot guarantee that all approvals necessary will be completed in time. If you do not wish to take your UTEP-assigned device, the College has Travel Laptops that may be available for check out.
The following two forms also need to be completed and submitted for approval:

Authorization to Remove Equipment Off Campus (needs to be authorized by your Chair, Director or Dean)

Export Control Acknowledgement and Certification Form (needs to be authorized by the Chief Information Security Officer )
