This panel brings together institutional leaders and scholars to examine how UTEP has strategically advanced opportunity, and why this model matters for the future of higher education.
Through multiple lenses (internal institutional change, scholarly insight, and national leadership) the conversation explored how universities can move from aspiration to action, using evidence, leadership, and place-based innovation to expand access and student success. Attendees gained perspective on why opportunity-centered transformation is not only possible, but essential for higher education’s next era.
This session will also introduced the work of the Diana Natalicio Institute for Hispanic Student Success as an engine of knowledge advancing systems of opportunity.
Dr. Hrabowski delivered an inspiring talk that kicked off our new Shiloff Family Lecture Series. He highlighted his hope for the future of higher education and its potential to build the nation’s economic, social, and community resiliency.
News organizations across the region joined us in celebrating President Emerita Diana Natalicio’s legacy, sharing stories, interviews, and reflections from the day’s events. Both video coverage and written stories highlight how her impact continues to resonate within our community and beyond.
