Freeman A. Hrabowski, III is President Emeritus of UMBC, serving as president from 1992 to 2022. His work focuses on science and math education and expanding success for underrepresented students. He has been recognized nationally for leadership in higher education and STEM opportunity.

Dr. Núñez is Executive Director of the Natalicio Institute for Hispanic Student Success at UTEP. Her scholarship examines how systems and organizations can broaden postsecondary opportunity, especially for Latine and first-generation students. She has led major funded work advancing educational effectiveness and community-engaged learning.

John Wiebe has served as Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at UTEP since 2020, following more than two decades in university leadership roles. As chief academic officer, he collaborates across campus to advance academic excellence, access, affordability, and student success initiatives such as the UTEP Edge.

Dr. Doran joined UTEP in 2024 and researches Latinx students, community colleges, and Hispanic-Serving Institutions. Previously, she was a tenured associate professor at Iowa State University and has earned recognition from organizations including the National Science Foundation and NASPA.

Dr. Gonzalez leads partnership- and operations-focused work advancing higher education transformation through public and community-engaged scholarship. She serves as UT Regents’ Endowed Distinguished Director at the Natalicio Institute and supports scaling strategic initiatives through national collaboration.
