Each academic year, CIERP provides information about UTEP through the Common Data Set (CDS) Initiative in order to provide accurate and timely data for college guidebook publishers and members of the higher education community. Since numerous publishers collect information through lengthy campus questionnaires, the CDS allows colleges to capture the most requested data in a standard format while decreasing the workload of administrators.

CIERP’s data dictionary contains over 850 terms used in institutional reports and statistical indicators, and incorporates definitions from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) and the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS).
