Metrics Based Planning
The Planning Team supports institutional decision-making by providing data-informed analysis, strategic insight, and planning support for high-impact initiatives. Our work is closely aligned with university priorities and is designed to support senior leadership, colleges, and administrative units in advancing institutional goals.
Strategic Planning
We lead and support institutional planning efforts, including development, implementation, and assessment of strategic initiatives. This includes coordinating data collection, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and tracking progress on institutional goals.
Budget and Resource Planning
We support the annual budget process by preparing data and analysis for colleges and leadership. In collaboration with the Budget Office, we contribute to the development of planning models and tools that inform resource allocation and decision-making.
Benchmarking and External Analysis
We conduct benchmarking using national data sources to contextualize institutional performance. These analyses support goal setting, strategic positioning, and evaluation of institutional progress.
Executive and Special Projects
We provide data analysis and planning support for high-priority initiatives led by the President, Provost, and Vice Presidents. These efforts often involve complex, cross-functional projects that require timely, accurate, and actionable insights.
Publications
The center is focused on developing conceptual papers and case studies that describe Metric Based Planning and its use at UTEP and other institutions.
